Old MacDonald Had a Farm....

Moooo-ve over ghosts and goblins, the farm animals are here!

This week we are beginning our two week unit on farm animals and harvest. Next Friday, Nov 11th we will have our Family Fun Friday #2 at Lake Farm Park in Kirtland, Ohio. Hopefully many families will take part so we can harvest some veggies to make Stone Soup and see some farm animals on a real farm!

Our letter of the week is Cc for cow. Cookies are always a favorite snack so we will make some during our cooking lesson on Tuesday. Check out the recipe here. Old MacDonald is our song of the week as we learn about farm animals and the sounds they make. During centers on Wednesday we will be working on rhyming words, writing letter Cc, and playing Barnyard Bingo. This week the children will be doing their chores to help take care of our farm animals using the iPad. A few of our chores include shearing the sheep, washing the picks, hatching the chick eggs, & feeding the cats. What fun!! If you have an iPad or iTouch check out Injini. It is a little pricey but a great APP for preschoolers.

Our stories this week inlcude: What Cows Do When No One is Looking, Country Story, A Sneeze Fleas, Sheep in a Jeep, and Oh Crumps (this is a Tumble Book so you can read/watch it online).

Our Star Students this week are Sasha and Rylee.
